Workers Compensation Insurance and Permits; Our employees are covered by the appropriate insurances.
Maritime work requires additional coverage when working at, on or near the navigable waterways. Usual Workers' Compensation does not provide marine construction coverage. These federally mandated special coverage's are not only required by law but protect the home owner from the potential of being sued by an injured worker.
Contractors and HOME OWNERS not having the proper permits and insurance coverage's are subject to $10,000.00 per day fines and the work may have to be removed. A home owner may be fined on the basis for not making sure coverage's by the contractor are in place. Work may be stopped, the construction site demolished with fines levied for not having the proper licenses/permits from the state, county, municipal enviromental agencies.
Federal, Florida law and local laws require special insurances and permits for marine work. Only a poor quality 'fly by nite' company would offer estimates without proper care to protect you and your property. Protect yourself: ask to see proof of USL&H and Worker's Compensation insurance before you allow any work performed on your property and seawall. A building permit is not enough to protect you.
